Tomato Red Cherry
Red Cherry tomato, or we could call them Red Cheery because they’re so jolly.
We grow these in our not very sunny garden, and are often still cropping them from our tiny greenhouse into October. Small (20 g to 30 g per fruit) so they don’t need masses of sunshine to form fruits, and they are sweet – a little plate of summer.
|Latin name||Solanum Lycopersicum|
|Planting indoors||Feb to May|
|Planting outdoors||Apr to May|
|Planting||Ideal for frowing in containers and pots (or my tiny greenhouse)|
|Light||Full sun to partial shade|
|Soil||Well-drained, fertile and moist|
|Watering||Regular, heavy watering|
|Caring||Regular watering is essential. If they dry out and you give them a large watering, the sudden extra hydration can cause the fruits to split.|
