An old fashioned rope hammock makes a laid back way to spend time in the garden. Suspended between two trees or other strong supports (we use a tree and a brick wall), lying back looking up through the branches gently swaying in the summer breeze, these are so comfortable.
The wooden spreader bars make them easy to get into. The knack is to stand next to one side, your back facing the hammock, and sit down into it. Then swing your legs up and in whilst lying down. Getting out is the reverse, just swing sideways and drop your feet down as you swing backwards.
