The Gotland sheepskin comes from a rare breed of sheep. Lying in the Baltic Sea, the Swedish island of Gotland is home to these beautiful animals. Fascinatingly coloured in shades of black, grey and white, the sheepskins have a tight curl to them.
The small number of sheep on the island means that our supplier has to apply to the farmers on the island for permission to purchase the sheepskins and pass their assessment before they are allowed to offer them for sale. Cleaned with an organic process, which retains the skin’s natural properties. No artificial colours or Detrimental chromium used in the tanning process. Without these chemicals the sheepskins are both skin allergy- and nature-friendly.
